ATOM MAC50 is manufactured from advanced polypropylene/polyethylene with a twisted, hybrid structure that provides exceptional bonding within the concrete matrix. Its macro-scale geometry — 38 to 54 mm in length and 0.3 to 0.5 mm in equivalent diameter — means it works at the structural crack scale, arresting and bridging cracks that form after the concrete has hardened.
Unlike steel fibers, MAC50 is entirely corrosion-free. It won't corrode at slab edges or in wet environments, and it eliminates the handling hazards associated with steel fiber batching. Its high tensile strength (450–700 MPa) and elastic modulus (≥ 4000 MPa) deliver post-crack performance comparable to light steel fiber reinforcement in many applications.
For industrial floors, pavements, tunnel linings, and shotcrete, MAC50 reduces placement costs, eliminates the need for conventional welded-wire reinforcement in many cases, and improves fatigue and impact resistance over the structure's service life.
